SPECIAL PROJECTS |
We had a special Kate’s Place friend, Marci King, come in and help create Mother’s Day cards that looked like shirts. We then were able to decorate the shirt cards with buttons and lace, etc. Preparing their own pasta salad to their Mom’s liking was the suggestion of Cathie, one of our volunteers who we could not do without! It was presented to each Mom in a ribbon decorated container, on a beautiful tray with flowers and desserts donated by J&B Bakery. |
We created TYE-DYE SHIRTS that we will have for the 4th of July. Unfortunately, the blue and red dye came out as purple and pink for some unknown reason. So...if you see someone over the holiday with a pink, white and purple shirt (as opposed to red, white and blue) you will know tht they are an official member of Kate’s Place! We also hope our volunteer, Cathie, was able to get the red dye out of her clothes!!!!! |
Our first outing for Kate’s Place was a TEEN DAY at FRIENDLY’S! It went so well that we are hoping to have many more outings in the future!

DAD’S DAY was great fun for the gang preparing cards with their own personal sentiments. Presented with patriotic glasses filled with peppermints and flag magnets. If the Dad was lucky….they may have gotten a bingo prize choice in their gift bag also! |

MOVIE OUTING
The Kate’s Place Gang attended the opening day of “High School Musical 3” at the Moorestown Mall movie theater. With the girls goo-goo over Troy and Ryan, and the boys gaa-gaa about Gabriella nd Sharpay , the excitement of the group was explosive! Can you imagine being over 18 years of age before you get to go to the movies with a group of your friends? It thrilled me to tears for all of them to be out in the community together at the movies swooning over their favorite high school movie idol. After the movie everyone headed to the food court where the gang enjoyed pizza and beverages provided by our volunteers Cathie and Shavaun. We are so lucky to have such wonderful volunteers!

HOOPS
Because our rental space removes the basketball hoops for summer and our gang cannot go that long without playing basketball, we have t aken a few trips to the Moorestown Community House to shoot some hoops. They loved playing in a real gym with hardwood floors. It was fierce competition and they all played better than ever. |
